We did some work on SL for the first time in a while. I’d spent a couple of weeks catching up on my new GTD obligations; now that I’ve got mind like water, it’s easier to work on the game without peripheral stress.

We’re trying some new explosion styles. It’s surprisingly difficult to craft a good particle-based explosion.

    For particle based explosions to look good, you’d need at least three or four different sprites. Yes, it is difficult, but also rewarding once you get it.

    Right now we’re using two regularly-blended growing bluish clouds, two multiplicatively-blended shrinking whitish clouds, some expanding loopy orbit thingys, and a bunch of gibs.

    Yep…. sounds about right. I had to create particle effects in my last project. Man I hate particles… >_
